DIY: How to easily replace the battery cover on your Nexus 4 [VIDEO]

It wasn't too long ago my shiny new Nexus 4 and like so many others, the pure Google device took a spill, shattering the back glass into a million pieces. Needless to say, I wasn't too happy about it and you guys may remember my rant post vocalizing my extreme displeasure with the Nexus 4′s build materials. After pouting for a good couple of days, I finally ordered a replacement back (aesthetics aside, the camera housing was also shattered, rendering it useless). I found what seemed to be an affordable replacement on eBay for $48.

Ferrari-driving kid's parents charged by Indian police (video)

Earlier this month, we reported on a video that was circulating the internet which showed a young boy driving a Ferrari F430 on a street in India while other children watched and two adults recorded the whole thing. And that was all that we knew at the time. Now, there is more information about the car, the kids and their parents thanks to an article in the Daily Mail. As it turns out, a wealthy businessman let his son drive the Ferrari as a present for his ninth birthday and recorded the whole thing while his six-year-old son was riding shotgun.

Japanese Firm Launches 'Unimo' Wheelchair That Can Traverse Any Terrain

We've seen personal vehicles from Japan that blow away anything we could think of in the U.S., the latest one being the Kidswalker NT. But Nano-Optonics Energy has just launched a new wheelchair that puts the conventional wheelchair to shame with what this one can do. The “Unimo” is a one-seater electrical vehicle (EV) that looks like sofa and is capable of traversing nearly anything due to its rubber crawler tracks, which replace the traditional wheels found on a wheelchair. It can turn a full 360°, has independent suspension and can climb over a step that is 15cm high, which is nearly 6 inches high.

Donal Trump Demands Apple Build An iPhone With A Larger Screen

Whatever the next iPhone turns out to be, one thing we'll pretty certain about is it will sell millions of units, even if it's just a simple upgrade to the device's internal specs and doesn't offer any real evolution. But an iPhone with a larger screen is something some current owners would love to have, even Donald Trump. Yes – Donald Trump is now throwing his two cents into the tech world as he is pretty much demanding Apple increase the size of the iPhone's screen by way of sending a message out through Twitter and Facebook. Trump said the following:

I have a lot of @Apple stock— and I miss Steve Jobs.

Nokia Reportedly Interested In Lytro-type Camera For Future Smartphones

For those who have not heard about the Lytro camera, it's basically a camera that allows users to shoot their photos first, and choose which points to focus later on. It is pretty handy as it allows photographers to capture the moment without having to worry about having the correct focus. Interestingly a report on Bloomberg has suggested that Nokia could be interested in a similar technology and could be looking to invest in a Californian startup company which creates Lytro-style camera technology which could be slim enough to fit into mobile phones.

Toshiba has just announced their Toshiba Canvio Connect portable external hard drive which will be very different from past Canvio releases, in the sense that this external hard drive will also let you access as well as share files straight from the device itself. This would clearly make it the first of its kind in the market, where you can carry up to 2TB of external storage space in a slim and compact form factor, and for fashionistas, Toshiba has got your back covered too, as it will come in several different colors, ranging from black to silver, blue, red and white.

By the end of this year, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter will be the second-oldest nameplate in its segment here in the States, but with hot new competition waiting in the wings, Mercedes-Benz is giving its hauler a freshened look and more equipment to stave off rivals. The Sprinter was a pioneer in bringing Euro-style delivery vans to North America, and it's inspired others to transplant their Continental offerings, with the all-new Ford Transit and Ram Promaster models launching shortly. It will also continue to do battle with lower-cost traditional competitors like the Chevrolet Express and Ford E-Series.

Android App Updates Now Restricted From Bypassing Google Play Store

Back in March we reported that Facebook was testing silent updates for its Android app. Silent update means that Facebook would have circumvented the Google Play Store and app updates would have been downloaded in the background while a device was connected to a Wi-Fi network. User's wouldn't be notified that an update is available, the update would have been automatically downloaded and then the user would have been prompted to install said update. Google apparently doesn't want developers following in the footsteps of Facebook, so its has updated the Play Store policies and barred apps from circumventing the Store for updates.

Study says voice-to-text no safer than regular texting

So much for all those systems that allow you to convert your voice to text messages. Reuters reports that a new study by the Texas Transportation Institute at Texas A&M has found the technology to be no safer to use while driving than employing a traditional handheld device. The study found that drivers took around twice as long to react to situations on the road as they did while they weren't texting and that eye contact with the road decreased as well. The study used 43 participants who were tasked with driving around a test course, first without any electronic devices and then with a voice-to-text system.

In typical Google fashion, there's a nice little easter egg hiding in Google Glass's software. If you head to Settings > Device Info > View Licenses on your Glass unit, and tap the touchpad on your unit 9 times (it'll beep with increasing volume each time) it'll eventually pull up a big panoramic photo of the Google Glass team. Fittingly enough, they're all rocking a pair of Glass. Oh, and Google chief Sergey Brin even makes an appearance. They say that you enter into a business in order to make money, and preferably, a handsome profit along the way. To not do so or achieve that would mean you are running a charity instead. With all the hacking that's been going on these days, (see AP's Twitter hijinx from a few days ago), you may be wondering just how secure the traditional password method really is. I think it's safe to say that, well… passwords aren't very secure. And there'd be many who'd agree with you. Take the Fast Identity Online Alliance, a security group founded in 2012 that that looks to finally kill off the password, replacing it instead with hardware (NFC, voice, fingerprints, etc.) that must be used to authenticate a user before permitting access to online accounts and other sensitive information.

Yes, we have seen our fair share of offerings on Indiegogo before, which is a crowdfunding site, and here we are with yet another interesting idea that might change the way the world uses smartphones to capture photos on the go. I am referring to Shuttr (and no, there is no typo involved here), which is a remote shutter release for smartphones which can be hooked up to a user's keychain. This would in turn make life a whole lot easier for impromptu shutterbugs to capture photos on the go.

Shao added that this year Huawei will also continue to accumulate the capability of producing or better sourcing chipset, display, power management, ID, material and connection. That said, it's unlikely that the company will end up manufacturing all of these by itself - Huawei is not in a position to have significant cash reserve or large-size acquisitions, said EVP Eric Xu in an earlier session; though he didn't rule these out entirely, either. As for 2014 and 2015, the focus will shift to the software side, especially Huawei's Android-based Emotion UI and cloud services.

Let's get this out of the way right off the bat: We don't know if the video you're about to watch really took place in the wild or if it were staged. That said, this appears to be one of the most alarming bits of road rage we've ever seen captured on video. Let's set the scene. A motorcyclist is riding along with a good bit of distance between him and the black Nissan Juke in front of him before accelerating to catch up. More details have emerged from yesterday's legal spat between Nokia and HTC, the one that ended with a preliminary injunction against the HTC One in Netherlands. HTC, who can't ever seem to catch a break, was using a dual-membrane microphone for the HTC One that was made exclusively for Nokia. It turns out that STMicroelectronics (the guys who designed the high-amplitude mics) forgot they had signed a 12-month exclusivity agreement with Nokia, and the Amsterdam district court is putting a 10-month ban on STMicro from selling the microphone to anyone but Nokia.

Time and again the U.S. has claimed that China has been launching a series of cyberattacks on agencies and companies based in the country. The administration has always denounced such attacks but now it is reportedly going to take a firm stand against them. A number of options are on the table, which the U.S. may pursue in order to strong-arm China in to ending cyberattacks from their homeland. Only last week Secretary of State John Kerry said that both the countries will form a working group on cybersecurity

These options include the prosecution of individuals that launch cyberattacks against the U.S.

Intel is reportedly working on cheap tablets and laptops. These new low cost devices will run on operating systems made by Google and Microsoft. Paul Otellini, CEO Intel, already said that touch devices could come with a price tag as low as $200. Though it does not necessarily mean that such a cheap tablet will run Windows 8, it'll probably run Google's OS. Right now a Windows 8 based tablet or laptop costs more than $600 which isn't exactly in line with the price points Intel has in mind.

According to some analysts there has been chatter about 7-inch tablets powered by Windows 8.
