Alleged press images of Sony Xperia i1 Honami leak out

After posing for live shots yesterday, the Sony Xperia Honami made yet another appearance. This time around, the yet to be revealed top-shelf smartphone showed up in alleged press images, reportedly taken from a Xperia i1 Honami system dump. The press images show both what appears to be the international version of the smartphone, as well as one which is bound for NTT Docomo in Japan. The press renders of the former appear to be in line with the recently leaked live images of the device. Sadly, no images of the device's back are available at the moment.

There is no official launch date for the Sony Xperia Honami.

General Motors' thunder from Down Under, Holden, is claiming a new lap record at the Nürburgring. in the commercial and utility vehicle segment. You see, the company's amusingly powerful Ute is technically classified as a Class NA Light Goods Vehicle, so despite its car platform, one can technically argue that it's a commercial pickup truck. Kinda sorta.
In any case, Holden recently brought its new VF SS Redline Ute to the 'Ring, and the company's dynamics engineer, Rob Trubiani, posted a lap time of 8:19.47.

How this app launched without it is anyone's guess, but you can expect a timeline filled with 400% more selfies (just in time for the summer!). Samsung Galaxy Note III could have a version with LCD screen

Samsung loves AMOLED screens. That much has been made awfully clear over the past few years, when, starting with the original Galaxy S, the Korean company has only used this display tech in its flagships. However, manufacturing issues might compel Samsung to release two versions of the upcoming Galaxy Note III – one with an AMOLED screen, and the other with an LCD panel. This is a possibility according to a report from ETNews.

In the end, only about 10% of the Galaxy Note III units may feature an LCD screen, and certain markets will get only those.

Ouya Game Console Deeply Flawed

Ouya Android powered game console is now released to retailers for $99. The console allow any developer to craft inexpensive games. Based on an Android chipset, Ouya aims to keep costs low and encourage innovation in a way that traditional competitors can't. Since launch this cheap game console has been receiving bad reviews in the media. It all comes down to cheap means crappy hardware.

Alcatel's One Touch Firefox OS smartphone officially launching in Europe and Latin America this summer

Initially announced in February, and approved by the FCC earlier this month, Alcatel's One Touch Firefox OS smartphone (called One Touch Fire) is officially ready to be launched "this summer." According to a press release issued today, the handset will be available in Europe and Latin America. There's no word on exactly what carriers will sell the One Touch Fire, but we know that Telefonica, Deutsche Telekom and Telecom Italia (among others) have announced their support for Firefox OS. The One Touch Fire is an entry-level device, so it's going to have a low price.

Sony has just introduced SmartWatch 2, which is a second screen for Android smartphones. The goal is to remotely control an Android app without having to touch the smartphone. With this device, users can either look at information (on the 1.6″  220×176 pixels display) or send simple commands to a smartphone without having to physically touch the handset. Simple examples include controlling a music track or check messages and notifications, but the possibilities are really endless.

Here comes the Judge. Court is in session. The verdict is in. How many more tired clichés can we come up with. Over the past two years, Toyota has invested more than $2 billion at its North American production facilities, and it apparently doesn't plan on stopping there. Euro car sales hit 20-year low in May

Automotive News Europe reports vehicle registrations in the European Union fell to 1.08 million in May. That's down from 1.15 million a year earlier and marks the lowest number for any May since 1993. General Motors, Peugeot-Citroen, Fiat, Renault, Ford, Volkswagen and Audi all saw sales fall off last month, though Seat managed to increase its sales by a relatively heady 13 percent. Currently, analysts are predicting that the European automotive market will continue to contract through 2013, though may show signs of rebounding by the end of the year.
