Pandora update finally enables Chromecast

The other day, Pandora announced a brand new upgrade that would bring us the tablet user interface we've all been waiting for. While that alone was big enough, we noticed something in the Google Play screenshots that wasn't in the app itself — a Chromecast icon. Pandora was listed as a Chromecast partner from the get-go, but they took their sweet time adding support in their apps. Thankfully, that is no longer the case.
A new upgrade today officially brings Chromecast support, so you can easily beam your tunes to your entertainment center (that's if you don't prefer feeding your tunes through other means already).

Mercedes-Benz is launching a new program in Palo Alto, CA, designed to help busy parents cope with their kids' ever-changing schedules. It's called Boost by Mercedes-Benz, and essentially consists of a squadron of silver-arrowed Sprinter vans designed solely to tote the kids about when mom and dad can't be there. Calling it a "youth transportation service," Boost is one of the projects being worked on by the tinkerers at Mercedes-Benz Research and Design North America. Of all the bragging rights that volley back and forth between Mustang and Camaro owners, there is one category that most owners probably don't want to be tops in: theft. The National Insurance Crime Bureau released a top 10 list for thefts of sporty cars for the 2010 to 2012 model years between January 2009 and December 2012, and it found that the Camaro was the most stolen with 1,509 reported thefts. The Mustang was the second-most popular vehicle for thieves in this class with 980 thefts, while the Dodge Challenger came in third (as it always seems to do in such comparisons...) with 782 thefts.

By examining over 40 million unique iPhones through its analytics software, Localytics today published a new report which reveals that the “unapologetically plastic” iPhone 5c actually has the highest adoption rate in the U.S. Prior to its announcement, it was consistently rumored that the iPhone 5c would see greater adoption in markets like China and India, as it was expected to be sold for under $300 off contract. 22,500 LG G2 Units Bound For Sprint Stolen

For over a month now Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile subscribers have been able to walk into their carrier's stores to pick up a LG G2, or have one delivered to them. Sprint subscribers have unfortunately had to wait a little bit longer. Earlier this month the carrier opened up pre-orders for the G2, which is expected to drop come November 8th. Sprint might have to send in additional supplies for Louisville, Kentucky, because unfortunately a truck carrying 22,500 LG G2 units bound for the city was stolen.
The theft took place around 6:30 pm earlier this week.

We can only imagine the challenges BMW is going to have explaining the i3 electric vehicle to the world. It's got a new powertain (all-electric, with optional range extender), a new production method (carbon fiber reinforced plastic!), a new brand (the 'i' line) and a new vehicle type (it's a city car). Despite everything that's different, BMW is still trying to talk about the i3 as if it fits in with the rest of the company's vehicles. But it doesn't. Not really. And that's going to make the marketing and salespeoples' jobs quite difficult.

Which is a shame, really, since the i3 is amazing.

Nissan rowed the Note ashore (video)

Normally we wouldn't suggest trying to float your car on water, but Nissan has made some modifications to turn its new Versa Note hatchback into a makeshift rowing shell. Nissan replaced the car's rear seats with a sliding rear rowing seat, modified the doors to open wider at 90 degrees and fitted a pair of oars. Most importantly, they put the whole thing on a floating platform to keep it from sinking into Eton Dorney Lake, the site of the 2012 Olympic rowing competitions in England (where the car is simply known as the Nissan Note).
