This is hardly the first time we've heard that Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S III will sport a quad-core processor designed in-house. Yet it's the first time that a Samsung official is the one who says that. The Korea Times reports that “a high-ranking company executive” said that Samsung is aiming to cut its dependency on Qualcomm's SoCs (Systems-on-a-Chip). Thus, the exec added, the successor to the Galaxy S II will come with a quad-core Samsung Exynos processor.
This processor will be built using a 32 nm process, as opposed to current Exynos CPUs which use a 45 nm process.
