2014 Nissan Maxima gets new Limited Edition model, pricing

With a new Maxima expected to debut next year for the 2015 model year, Nissan is only making small changes to its big sedan for 2014. Buyers looking to get behind the wheel of Nissan's "4-Door Sports Car" will be happy to know that the base price for the 2014 Maxima carries over from 2013 starting at $31,000 (*excluding the $810 destination charge). Aside from two new colors, the only change to the base Maxima S is the addition of a new option group. Sounding very similar to the Sport Package available on the SV, the $750 Limited Edition Package adds smoked Xenon headlights, dark-accented 18-inch wheels, a rear spoiler and fog lights.

Maserati orders triple on strength of Quattroporte demand in China

Considering Maserati sold all of 6,300 cars globally in 2012, its goal of selling 50,000 by 2015 seemed like a bit of a stretch to say the least, but it turns the Fiat-owned automaker was on to something.

Morgan Stanley Holds Off On Upgrading To BlackBerry 10

BlackBerry 10 was launched earlier this year with devices like the BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Q10 hitting the market, so we guess for some companies that are still on the BlackBerry platform, it should be time to upgrade, right. Morgan Stanley is one of those companies that still uses the BlackBerry platform, although at the moment they have distributed BlackBerry 7 devices to their employees around the world, and for now it looks like there are no plans for the company to upgrade to BlackBerry 10.

Autocar pits McLaren MP4-12C against turbo Toyota GT86

Autocar pits McLaren MP4-12C against turbo Toyota GT86

The Toyota GT86, in all of its forms, is one of the best-handling cars money can buy, a trait that can put a smile on the faces of all but the most jaded car enthusiasts. But if good handling isn't what they're looking for, then what is. Our first guess would have to be more power, something the 200-horsepower Toyota would benefit from. Autocar tries out that theory by driving two turbocharged GT86s on track, then pitting the more powerful one against the 616-hp McLaren MP4-12C in a track battle.
The first GT86 turbo Autocar's Steve Sutcliffe drives makes around 255 rear-wheel horsepower and a bucket-load more torque than the stock car.

Tech Ad Parody Video Is Hilarious

Tech Ad Parody Video Is Hilarious

Over the past couple of years we have seen a variety of advertisements tech companies have released for their products. While each advertisement takes a different route, they do have a certain "theme" to it and it is this theme that the folks at College Humor have decided to parody. For instance they poke fun at how a majority of these ads seem to rely on indie rock music, or young people with creative-type jobs, cute children, and even similar editing styles.

Sony's Lens Camera Accessory Could Be Known As The "EspressOn" [Rumor]

We know that Sony has a "lens camera" type accessory in the works, which has also been referred to by its model numbers, the QX10 and the QX100, but what will the entire lineup be known as upon its release. After all "lens camera" doesn't sound too catchy, does it. Well according to the folks at BGR, the accessory is expected to be known as the "EspressOn", which to be honest does sound a little weird, not to mention "express" would make more sense, but then again perhaps Sony might have their own reasons.

Toyota wants improved crash scores with midcycle facelifts

The performances of some Toyotas in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's (IIHS) regimen of crash tests leave something to be desired. Consider the small overlap frontal crash test: only six Toyota, Lexus and Scion vehicles have undergone the new test, yet all but one of them received a poor rating. Osama Nagata, CEO of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America Inc., says midcycle vehicle updates are in the works to address the safety issues brought to light by the IIHS test, Automotive News reports.

Kyocera Piezo Film Speaker Developed For TVs, PCs, Tablets

Kyocera is currently working on what they call "Smart Sonic Sound", which happens to be a piezo film speaker that was specially developed for everyday consumer electronics devices such as TVs, computers and tablets. This ultra-thin, lightweight (where the medium sized model measures just 1mm thick, or should I say thin, tipping the scales at 7 grams) audio device might actually usher in an age of even slimmer TVs, computers and tablets. Of course, being slim is one thing, but how about enhancing the audio quality to a degree where it delivers a far more realistic audio experience.

Comfort Cast Helps You Update Doctors, Facebook While Your Bones Heal

Last month, we caught wind of a 3d-printed cast that is able to give your wounded area, such as your arm, some much needed ventilation as it helps heal your busted bones, and is also recyclable. We thought the concept was pretty neat, but the concept of the Comfort Cast makes us want to go play in traffic in hopes we'll limp off with a broken bone or seven. Kyuho Song came up with the concept of the Comfort Cast in order to help keep the wearer connected in a number of ways.

T-Mobile Accuses AT&T's Aio Of Using Magenta For Their Logo

While it was just a couple of years ago that both AT&T and T-Mobile were eager to merge, it looks like whatever love they had for each other has since been lost as T-Mobile has recently filed a lawsuit against AT&T, alleging that AT&T "stole" the magenta color for the logo of the carrier's Aio prepaid service. According to the lawsuit, T-Mobile claims that AT&T did it on purpose to confuse and potentially steal customers away from T-Mobile using a shade of magenta that T-Mobile had actually trademarked.

While we know that the Final Fantasy fanbase is huge, not to mention that A Realm Reborn is essentially a reboot of Square Enix's failed attempts at a MMORPG from a few years ago, we did not expect the game to be so popular to the point where the company had to put a stop to digital sales while they sort out their server issues.

Google gave the Nexus 4 a $100 price cut in the United States

In a truly surprising fashion, Google gave the LG-made Nexus 4 smartphone a massive discount. The device is currently priced in the Google Play Store at a sweet $199 for the 8GB version, and $249 for a handset with 16GB of on-board memory. The abovementioned price tags will get you a brand new, contract-free Nexus 4. This is quite an aggressive move by Google, as most top-shelf smartphones in the United States are price in the $200 range with a contract.

Furthermore, the LG Nexus 4 has received at least a 25% discount in a handful of other markets.

The Moto X has been available on AT&T for close to a week now, but not for everyone who wanted to order one through Motorola's Moto Maker site  that allows you to customize the phone with different colors and engravings. All that changes today, though — anyone who wants a custom AT&T Moto X through Moto Maker can now do so without needing any special access code or privileges. To top that off, you can also order the Moto X without having to sign a new two-year contract. Doing that will set you back $580, which is a far cry from the $300 we were all hoping for way back when.

With BlackBerry and Samsung signing a deal in which Samsung devices will come preloaded with BBM, and how there have been talks about the possibility of BBM being spun off into a separate company, there has been speculation (again) that Samsung could be interested in acquiring BlackBerry, or at least some of its assets. Samsung had to once again step forward and refute the rumors that the South Korean tech giant is not interested in acquiring BlackBerry and that their partnership basically ended with BBM.

Sony releases image of Xperia Z1 (Honami) camera with G lens

Sony is continuing its #bestOfSony teasers of the Xperia Z1 / Honami with a look at the camera. A G logo next to it indicates the upcoming cameraphone will be using Sony's G lens, which is Sony's line of lenses for DSLRs and digicams. There's an LED flash next to the camera – single-LED and no xenon as early rumors indicated. We guess the Xperia Z1 will rely on its relatively big 1x2.3" sensor for low-light photography. It's about 70% bigger than most smartphone camera sensors used at the moment.

Hard evidence of blue HTC One emerges

A blue HTC One version has been rumored since last May. The device has been getting our attention with concept images and renders, but today we have something a little more special. There is hard evidence that proves the metallic blue HTC One exists. The first leak comes from a leak ninja who claims to work for a factory contracted by HTC to make phone parts. He displays the blue HTC One's shell in all its glory. Aside from the shiny blue color, everything else should be the same as the good ol' HTC One.

The second piece of evidence is from a random encounter with a working device.

At the ninth Volkswagen Sunshine Tour, an annual gathering of thousands of Beetle lovers, the "most beautiful beach Beetle of the Year" award went to this New Beetle Convertible enrobed in 40 kilograms – that's about 88 pounds – of colorful, knitted wool. According to VW's press release, it took Marthe and Magnus Schwarz, who met at a previous Sunshine Tour (where else?), seven months to create their unique work of stitchery. As you can see in the photo above, Marthe even went the extra mile by knitting her husband a special beard for the occasion.

Lord Vader comments aside, this is a seriously mean looking Mercedes-Benz. Owned by designer Kahren Arakelyan, this 560 SEC has been breathed upon by AMG, and has had its 5.6-liter V8 bored out to a nice, even 6.0 liters (which we suppose should make it a 600 SEC AMG). The video, by Electric Federal, provides a different look at the predecessor to today's CL-Class, and what it means to Arakelyan, an Armenian that discusses growing up in his homeland, surrounded by Ladas until his dad came home in a legendary Mercedes sedan - the 450SEL 6.9.

What you see above is obviously just an empty case but it is made to the specifications of the actual phone. The quality was said to 'look good' and that it does not look as cheap in person as some of the previous images seem to suggest.
